Ikebana arrangements are not unlike sculpture; considerations of line, form and function guide the construction of the work. The resulting forms are varied and unexpected, ranging from compositions from a single flower, to ones that incorporate several different flowers, branches and other natural objects. This presentation will showcase the history of this ancient floral art as well as the varied methods used in Ikebana.
